West Central Illinois | New one for me might seem surprising, have never had much of a rain to speak of on downed hay, maybe 1/4" a year or 2 but mowed a field of 4th year alfalfa that has a lot of orchard grass and fescue in it, maybe 50/50 grass and alfalfa. Got 3 inches of rain last night on it, was mowed monday afternoon and didn't do any drying that i could tell yesterday since was cool and cloudy yesterday.
Is this stuff going to be junk by the time we get it dry and baled? Or any estimate to how much feed value it will take out of it? Like I said never have had that much rain on downed hay before but when i've had 1/4" rain on hay that early after cutting it didn't seem to do much to it. Just not sure about 3 inches of rain... | |
