Subject: RE: One more question on skid steers

I'm hoping to upgrade skid steers in the next year and am having a hard time deciding on tracks or tires and getting a set of over the tire steel tracks for it.  I've been around skid steers my whole life and I've ran a couple of bigger machines but I was never all that impressed with them until we rented a Bobcat 864 on tracks last spring.  The traction and flotation it had were amazing, soft or muddy ground conditions that would stop a wheeled machine didn't even phase the track machine and it would easily outpush our 140hp 2wd loader tractor.  I know the track machine is going to be more expensive to run but after seeing what they can do I think it would be money well spent.
