Could be a Woodford (Good- usually orange and has a dial thing to set the flow) or a Woodmanse(not so Good- usually red in color). Some of the cheaper hydrants were not burred or chamfered (brass) in the hole where the rubber plug operates. Rubber swells up and the stopper gets cut and nicked. A few seconds with a burr knife would have been all it would have taken to have made a much better product.
