Alton, Ia | I think what the poster meant was he put 20-21 MC corn in straight from field. The corn started heating by itself after 10 days, and then he took advantage of the internal heat to dry the corn. At least that's my interpretation.
This method can work. Just be aware that the heat you made is not free. One of the laws of engineering is energy is neither created nor destroyed, just transferred to different forms. The heat came from breaking down of some of the grain dry matter, ie spoilage. You will not have as much dry matter after this as you did before, but it is commonly ignored since it isn't paid for. The heat may be cheaper than what you'd pay for LP, or it may be more expensive. It's just not free. | |
