Mfg's have captive parts, which are those parts that are unique or exclusive to their equipment. Then there are the common ones. Belts, disc blades, bearings, filters, etc.
The common parts are as high as the mfg thinks they can get away with. The captive parts are priced to hit a markup goal with no worry about being price shopped.
