Subject: Re: submersible pumps

Mine is a 3 inch Grundphos pump. Installed in 06 and they took the cheap plastic check valve off and replaced with a brass unit. the next day we had problems with it. Seems some sand from disturbing the well was stuck in the valve and letting it bleed off really fast causing an overheat problem. They dropped a new unit and went on. Noticed later that on a long run of pumping water, it was kicking off. Still in warranty they came out and checked it again. We found that the power coming in from the pole was about 254 volts and was kicking the circuit protection.
Called the power company and after they reset the line voltage to the proper level, no more problems. Been real happy with it ever since, seems to be a good pump.
