| I had an old 3 wire 4 inch pump that went bad after a lightening strike. Had to have it pulled by the pros as it got stuck coming out. Was replaced by a 3 inch 2 wire pump that puts out the same 10 gallon per minute as the old 4 inch.
The well company called it a "soft start" pump in that it starts slower than the ond 3 wire and spins up to speed. I cannot tell any performance difference, even filling sprayer nurse tanks.
I like the 3 inch in that it will never get stuck in the well.
