You might spend 6-8 k more than a decent straight truck, but a semi will be a quantum leap forward from what you are doing now. Good old hopper 10k truck 12k, or vice versa. Look into it, crunch the numbers....you won't regret it. I disagree with the fellow who says a diesel won't pay. If you are running 7500 miles a year diesel will pay for itself over 5 years. Primary reason is that the better gas trucks are still high priced. The maintenence on a diesel is much less. Going from gas to diesel 10 years ago was one of the more productive things we did.
