Leesburg, Ohio | I don't know about the muck. We have done some pretty wet clay with the Pluribus units and got away with it, but somewhat dry is really alot better. We did one field of cornstalks going back to corn last year that was entirely too wet, and it planted OK, but I think we hurt our yield...only made 140, compared to most everything else in the 160-170 range, and it was a good field as far as soil types. I agree with Paul...I'd wait if possible.
That said, we have some wheat stubble going to corn that has never been close to drying out, even when some other fields were decent this spring (which wasn't often) and we will just wait until the rest of the corn is done and than go...they'll probably still be wet, but the Pluribus will help dry it out some. | |
