Aberdeen MS
First time I crawled behind the wheel of a "truck", it had a 231 6 cyl in it with a 4 speed, I was 9 at the time, 1963... LOL.

The first one I drove for someone else was the tandem bulk milk route truck, 3X9 gasser IH with a 5 X 3. One learns how to shift very quickly if you wanted to make progress down the road. I thought I had the world by tail when I graduated to the 5XX gasser tri ax with 5 X 4 in it. That was in 1976.

I had always heard that running to the west coast OTR and mountains gave you few chances to do things right... only one chance to do it wrong. That was until I got into some of the "back roads" in PA (actually state highways). When the Jake didn't hold me back bobtailing @ 40 MPH coming down, I knew I had graduated from the school of truck driving.

First one I got run with A/C was a 68 Shaker with a 238 in it. Boss kept that A/C working cause he felt sorry for making me put up with the 238. The guys with the 290's had to suffer......LOL.
