Finney county, kansas | We strip till have used both nh3 and liquid. Always thought nh3 had a drag on yields so did a side by side this year. I have pulled ears numerous times and did yield checks and the liquid has come back between 10 and 17 bushels higher than the nh3. These were treated the same 175 lbs of N in the fall in the strip another 60 blown on with the sprayer in the spring and about 10 lbs with the starter. We will never use nh3 again. With our weather down here we do not leach much nitrogen as we live in a desert well not quite but it sure seems like it sometimes. | |
