Lewisburg, PA | I sell forage to a large dairy. We price it buy quanity not quality. The last seven years I ve been with them, HE said that the quality has gotten worse since they have been with them. All he talks about is saving protien cost so he wants high protien, So this year he paid for a conklin foiliar feed to make better feed and quess what the side buy sides no difference. SO I got all of the forage samples from the last seven years and to my surprise the quality has steadly gotten better. in 05 and 06 there was a lot of 170 to 200 RFV's but high protien doesn't match high RFV . A couple 200 RFV samples where only 21-22 % protien the 23-24% were 160 - 170. So what would you want RFV or protien? | |
