East-Central Ontario | Anybody else calculated the nutrient value of their wheat straw at these new input prices? Did mine this week and it looks like the straw's worth about 5.5 cents/lb spread back on the field (at Canadian fert prices, on my farm). Last year straw was going for about 5 cents baled, FOB the field. Looks like I'm going to be spending a lot less time baling straw this year, might as well put some red clover on with the urea. | |
