Subject: Re: Shop Door ?

Leesburg, Ohio
I would not want a bottom roller in an ag application. Most farm shops I've seen, including ours, are not as clean and mud-free as all the hangars I've been in.

We are very happy with our Hydro-swing 34x16. Seals up better than any other type of door. No headroom lost. Less maintenance. Everyone seems to be worried about slower opening speed and losing heat, but it hasn't been a problem for us. Takes about 40 seconds to open, compared to about 20 seconds for a regular overhead door...20 seconds difference is insignificant. We have radiant floor heat, and temperature recovery is very quick. We do have a smaller 14x14 overhead in one side wall, but have had alot more trouble with it than with the Hydroswing. I would give up the ovehead before the Hydro. Opening either one in cold weather means alot of cold air comes in no matter what, no matter what size the door. Sliders in a shop is not acceptable in my opinion, if there is a choice.
