Subject: Re: 4455 vs 77/7800

Huntley Montana
Have (5) 4455s (5500-11000hrs) & a 7800 (8000 hr) & a 7810 (5500 hr). 4455s in my mind are 1 of the best JD's made. Minamal Electronics, 7.6 engine, Air conditioner THAT WORKS all the time when needed. 3pt will not lift with the 7800, but I've never broke a rear axel on a 4455, broke both on the 7800. But the 7800 needed larger axels to handle the 3 pt lift. 7800 has a nicer cab, but the air conditioner is VERY tempermental & hates to work too hard. Have to service air conditioner filters OFFEN, sometimes daily. ( some affirmative action engineer put the air intake in the 2nd worst place, guess it could of been on the floor?). Have had more troubles with the 7800, but it's a fair tractor. 7700 will be a little light.
