We had a 499 for years and it was a good machine. We traded it for a 5020 macdon. We love the steel rolls on the macdon over the rubber. The macdon also leaves a better windrow. We are making dairy hay. The 499 will be cheaper, but spend the time looking for a good one. At the end of our 499 run we seemed to have the reel bearings go out a lot.
