I've done the truck seat thing. I don't recommend it. A tractor is much more demanding of the suspension and even the relatively high-end (for the day) Bostrum truck suspension I used was not up to the task.

Bostrum does make an off-road suspension, which is what I used to replace the mis-guided truck seat experiment. It worked fine as long as we owned it, and it's still in the tractor as of a few weeks ago when I saw it last.

The difference is the material and the distance between the linkages. The truck suspension is about 5" wide and made from stamped sheet metal. The off-road suspension is made from 3/8" strap and it more like 16" wide.
