Iowa | One other thing, on these older trucks/engines, is that the fuel return line (usually a small #4 aeroquip hose) gets plugged going back to the fuel tank OR the fuel return line fitting(which has an orifice in it) gets plugged. If either of those items are plugged, then the fuel and the possibility of a small amount of air CAN'T be removed from the system, because there is no way for it to escape back to the fuel tank. A small amount of circulation is necessary for the system to operate as designed. Note: If the fitting is plugged, just remove it and blow compressed air backwards thru it usually works. If the hose is plugged, then replace it. | |
