Subject: Machine Shed Cement ?

Graymont Illinois

Tuesday they are supposed to start pouring cement.

My shed is 60' x 80', 1/2 to be cemented (60 x 40)

My ? is, do you put down plastic or not? No floor heat tubes.

I have heard people swear both ways, yes and no...... So!

This cement will be a hybrid shop. I may insulate 1/2 the shed and ceiling.(cement area)

But only use a curtain to divide the cement area and the non-heated

I only work a few days a week, in the winter in the shed, unless it is a major project.

Since I have heard it both ways on plastic under concrete, I guess I am going to X-periment.

The contractor is going to pour in 2 events, 20' x 60', then come back for the other 20' x 60'

He asked if I wanted the plastic, he does not see the need.

I told him to do 1 pour with plastic and  1 without.

What can I expect in a cold shop, then using some type of heat.

Will I see a difference in sweating between the 2 pours?

Thanks , Brian
