sounds like you need to learn some basics about truck brakes, bet you don't do your own DOT inspections!
One thing may be that your air ride is holding the axle with maxis off the ground and putting all the weight on the other.
If you have outboard drums a brake job is no harder than rotating your tires and not very expensive either, inboard is another story.
If you are not adjusting your brakes regularly, park the truck until they are checked out.
