Subject: Converting a grain cart from PTO to hydraulic drive

My brothers-in-law currently run a 600 bushel grain cart on their 4760 JD. It runs on a 1000 PTO. They'd like to free up this tractor during harvest, and have more traction/better handling by putting the cart on a Versatile 835 (the only thing they have available). Problem is the Versatile is a bareback - no PTO or 3 point.

Question is: can the grain cart be successfully converted to a hydraulic drive by mounting some sort of a hydraulic driven pump to drive the PTO shaft? Any other suggetions?

Thanks!
