| The 4.3 has an issue with lifter noise as they get older. The lifters seem to get a piece of crap in them and stick. 2 guys in our dealership have the same noise from time to time in their 4.3 s-10 trucks.
We use a product called SEAFOAM. It is an additive and usually takes care of the noise in a few miles.
I wouldn't replace the lifters until I give SEAFOAM a try.
