If you can find an independant that rebuilds transmissions, you could probably get it done for $1500-$2000 which is a lot less than a different pick up. I put in a rebuilt 4L60E in my GMC last year. The clutches burned up on mine. The shop that did the rebuild set it up for quicker shifts with higher pressures to lessen the clutch slippage.
