Sounds like the sun gear shell is stripped out. Pretty common issue on these trans, unfortunatly. If the truck is worth it, i would look at a reman unit. These trans also had a history of blowing the trans fluid out the vent and burning up the trans. DO not know why they do it and GM never would give us a straight answer either.
