southern MN | Your site perhaps is mentioning the standard 4 cylinder. When my wife was test driving the 6cyl Rav4 we bought, the salesman told her to punch it, see what it does. Then he had to mention the speed limit is 65, we were real near 80, and hadn't got to top gear..... Perhaps the computers limit it, but there is plenty of power & tranny to put it well over 100. I've not tried to go over 100. I may have gotten quite close, but I think my wife reads here once in a while....
The old '68 Rambler with a 6 cyl and 3 speed manual with overdrive topped over 100mph (I knew what type of tires dad had on it, even being young I didn't try to push it harder but there was some throttle left yet....), and that was the car I got handed down from my grandma. Seriosly.
120+ is not all that remarkable on a smooth country road, maybe a 15 mph tail wind thrown in.
