| I know what the speedo says, but I'd bet quite a bit alot of these vehicles were not really doing anywhere near the speeds that you guys think they were.
Very few cars that you can drive off the dealers lot are capable of actually reaching 130+ mph. Drag gets to be way too much of a force to overcome. Besides, really going 130+ mph on the relatively bumpy public roads coupled with the poor suspensions in production cars would give a new meaning to "white knuckles"
