South of KC, it is a pretty good road. I would not go through KC on 71. It is better than it was 10 years ago, (then, if anyone went on 71 it was clear they did not know where they were) but I would still take 435.
There is a scale in Harrisonville. Last I was there, it was closed due to construction. The scales on I44 near the OK border are open and staffed by energetic Commercial Inspectors.
Need some comments about highways south of Kansas City..........
