Roaming the plains
S on I35 to 59 to 169 is an easy route and in good conditions. I have driven it this and last week.
Missouri roads are worse than KS and 71 has a lot of construction around KC.
If you are coming down I-35 from Iowa I would take I-435 around the city east side of KC as it is much more open and less lane changes involved. Will save you stress and possibly time depending on when you hit the city.
