What was the first year ag chem made the 1603 series?

Is there a good possibility that the first ones that came out could of done so with No rear mud flaps? Found one that has no flaps on the back and the fella says he got it like that. I find that fairly odd.

Now the rig I am looking at has a 10 speed. This just a plain ole 10 speed like the trucks have with same sort of clutch? It's hooked the infamous 3208 that he claims doesn't use a drop of oil. I find that hard to believe as well.

Deeredrivers been a pretty good advocate for me on these ole girls to what all look for. He spends a good portion of every spring in one. Besides his advice I would like to hear from some of you others what else to look for.

Sposedly this machine is in the 79 to 80 era. Not certain on exact age.

35 mph top end on these give or take?

Thanks in advance.
