Southwest Indiana | I may be wrong about this, but will take a shot anyway. This is how our service manager explained it to me a few years ago as I recall. Power beyond on an 8000 requires a load sensing connection in order to flow oil to the attachment unless you already have oil flowing thru a SCV. On a CCS planter the lift/lower SCV also engages the CCS fan - which means anytime the planter is lowered there is oil flowing which also lets oil flow to the VRD thru the power beyond. If the planter is a vaccum planter, as most are - anytime you want to plant there is also oil flowing to the vacs which accomplishes the same thing allowing oil to the VRD. I'm not saying this as a 100% I know, but i believe if the SCVs are shut off for transport then the power beyond should be as well. On a side note - there is no need to buy a complete power beyond kit for either of the tractors in the original post in order to run the VRD. The couplers in the kit RE219422 and 51M7045 o-ring are all that are required. | |
