Are you sure it's not a 844 controller?
If its got a flowmeter, that could be off.
You will need to know if it's reading acres properly, & if it's reading gallons correctly. That will till a lot what to look for in calibration.

As for the tips - replacement, look at the pattern. Usually if they are worn you'll notice a streak at the top of the spray. Or if there is any other distortion in the pattern.

A rule of thumb is 10,000 acres, but that still depends on GPA and product used. Some chemicals are more abrasive than others.
