Alsace 47°52'46"N 7°24'30"E | I think it has to do with IP addressing. I assume all computers are set up with DHCP enabled. I guess that the laptop may already be running when it gets connected and therefore uses an IP address that is out of range or has the same address as another computer hence causing addressing conflict. Ask your GURU to check IP addresses.... I would use fix IP addresses on the hard linked network and if DHCP is not needed assign a fix IP address to the laptop too. If DHCP is needed, I would set the 'SERVER' to act as a DHCP server too. To make things understandable, IP addresses are identifiers on a network that have to be unique. DHCP is a dynamic IP assignment policy with some auto assignment routines. A network guru should do that as it may cause conflicts on the internet if applied to wrong network. JMHO
