Subject: Re: Pioneer Y beans

The AYT process uses molecular markers to identify yield genes. No one has used molecular markers for this except Pioneer. It has been used to identify and insert defensive traits like Phytopthera resistance or cyst resistance, but Pioneer is the only company that has learned to use this technology to identify "yield genes". Therein lies the difference. Unfortunately, not all of the Y series beans have been totally developed through AYT.
