Dodge Co, Wi
First off are they group 0 or shorter? if they are, then they should be heat dependent. If they are group I's or longer then they should be daylength dependent. As has been said it is good to have the soil warm, soys like warm water imbibition, i.e. 10+C. I cannot see how running them through an air drill (hoe or opener) would be any less damaging to the seed coat than a box drill so you should be good to go that way.

Perhaps Clayallover can add some good input as he is closer in lat to you than I was in London, ON.

Do not be blinded by the Canadianonly retard CHU's; GDD's and soybean groups are much more appropriate to maturity determination when it comes to corn/soys.
