I did exactly that for a local farm last spring. It was fall applied NH3 on stalks, but they wanted to freshen the strips. It really made for a mellow seedbed. I will say that the double gauge wheels are almost a necessity, to keep it set on firm ground. With one wheel, if it finds the loose area, it will drop. I just learned where to drive in accordance to the strip.
