Subject: RE: Anyone cutting milo in Kansas yet....

North Central Kansas
We harvested some milo 10 days ago in southeastern Jewell County. It was early-planted Pioneer 84G62, into wheat stubble that had soybeans double-cropped last fall. We test cut a month ago and it was 17.5%. Three weeks ago, it was 17.5%. 11 days ago, it was 17.5%, but had some wind to dry it down the next day. The stalks were still plenty green.

A field that was milo last year, planted the same day as the one I mentioned above, was 19% 10 days ago. Same variety, different crop rotation. Hope to get back into it this weekend, but my custom harvester wants to wrap up soybeans for some of the guys who want to double-crop.
