Subject: Not Kansas but close if it matters

Southeast Colorado
Hopefully we will have our lightly irrigated milo out by Thanksgiving. Maybe start in two weeks. It's kind of strange but the NASS report for two weeks ago shows that 34% of the milo in Colorado had been harvested. I live in southern CO and we are always the first to harvest. There is no milo cut here at all and very little corn. I wonder where they come up with those stupid stats! One thing about it is that there was very little milo planted due to drought. There is a tremedous amount of beautiful wheat though since everyone's rotations are screwed up. We planted double our normal acres. Sure beats the blowing dirt we had last winter! We finally gave up and swathed down our feed onto muddy ground. Normally I would never do that but frost was coming and the ground has not been dry for a month. Now if we can just get it baled. Strange weather in our little desert here!
