Subject: Re: grid sampleing

I see alot more validity when we make prescriptions tying yield maps with the grid sample points. If you can account for the 5 acres where SDS made your beans yield 30 bpa less, and the part of the field where corn was 240 instead of 140, then over time it has leveled off our grid samples. The important part of grid sampling is the ability to go sample the same place 4 years later and see if your overall program is having the desired results, granted its an inexact science but better than shooting in the dark. zone sampling has merits too, but tracking those points and having repeatabilty is still something you should be trying for. I guess I am saying, pick something you think works for your field but have a way to qualify your decision as you go through the years.
