Brazilton KS | I'm sure someone will take issue with this, but it's my opinion that it's somewhat questionable whether most farmers have enough information and knowledge to write prescriptions competently, and I will go out on a limb and say that NO outsiders do. I've certainly never seen a coop which even came close to knowing enough about anyone's land to write prescriptions competently.
If you aren't going to do better then flat rate, you are better off with flat rate. It takes a lot more then a yield file to put together enough information to write prescriptions, and even when you have the information it takes a lot of judgment to put together the formulas (or a whole lot of time and personal judgment, if doing it by human judgment) to turn that information into something better then nothing. | |
