I switched from 1.5 to 3". It would not cut unless I was going 2 mph. Finally called the dealer and he told me I needed a different drive pulley to speed the sickle up. Useful information! ;)
I'm in no-till beans and 3" is the only way to go as stated earlier. Sickle sections do not break as often as the 1.5's did.
