Like Ted I went from a 9500 to a 9650STS, so I can't say how it will perform in relation to a 9600. I was very happy with the machine, thought it was a little easier to set than the cylinder machine, better in wet corn, improved grain quality, I even ran a 6 row CH for a while and didn't have any problems with loss that others have talked about, 30 ft platform worked great 4-5 mph in beans.
