Subject: RE: Y Series vs. RR2Yield

The RR2 yield is not a new trait, it is a new location of the roundup trait in the soybean genome in between genes that express yield.

The Y series is not a trait, correct, but it is a product that contains genes that express yield just like the RR2 yield soybeans. Monsanto found the yield genes by shooting the roundup gene to a different part of the plant, and Pioneer found the yield genes through marker assistance. Why can't they market it? Both companies actually found genes in the soybean that express yield.
