Subject: Re: gas motor powered aeration fan

I don't know about the feasibility of doing this with high priced gas and diesel I think you would almost be better off hauling to an elevator if one is available I remember back 8-10 years ago we had an ice storm no power for almost a week and we ran a little gas generator it was burning 8-10 gallons of gas a day and this was when gas was cheap <1.50 gallon and all we used it for was the bare necessities to keep food cool, house warm (have propane furnace) but need power to run the exhaust fan and to pump water for house and cattle and a few lights and to cook a little food to get by and after we got power back looked at the power bill and they have on there the average daily cost it is was only like 3.50/day and we used everyting we would normally use so I don't think generating power for a fan would be cost effective.
