NW Washington | Sorry, but Al Gore has not held political office for almost eight years, and his last office was Vice President whose main task was to keep smiling and attend a lot of funerals, unlike the warmonger we have now.
George W Bush has been President for almost eight years and his brother Jed Bush was governor of Florida for two terms, if I am not mistaken, and the current Governor of Florida is a Republican. And until less than two years ago Congress was also controlled by the GOP. So my question is how is the big sugar farm buy out has anything to do with Al Gore? Sorry, but this looks like a Republican good deal for some rich sugar grower, and another jab in the butt for the tax payers.
Moreover, the US sugar industry has been supported my import tariffs on sugar for years and I think NAFTA is going to increase sugar imports.
