The way I set my 1460 with the AFX rotor.... large wire concaves. every other wire is pulled on the last half of #2 and all on #3 concave. Vanes I believe are in the center setting. I don't change that setting. For small grain I use the small wire concaves with smooth grates.

Open the concaves until whole cobs are produced.... then rotor speed to clean the cob of the kernels. Faster is some are left....slower till till some are there. Basically I use the tiny kernels on the tip back as my guide. A few left seems to be the perfect setting.

New style fan...generally around 1000 give or take with the air foil chaffer..... shoe sieve set at 9/16" or more.
