Mid-Missouri
We got a shower this morning so I went ahead and pulled every other wire in two and three. I thought it would be easier to do in the shed then in the field. I can move the vanes in the field much easier. I am curious if tough pieces of cobs with corn still attached will fall through the bigger concave opening now and go out the back on bottom. That is something retarding the vanes would not have affected. The bittersweet beauty of these machines is there are so many configurations that the operator can make work for almost any condition. I enjoy "maximizing" these combines, especially with the vast aftermarket inventions as well as those homemade. I will report back my results and hope I haven't upset anyone for not retarding the vanes! I believe the rotor loss from this field is the way the kernel holds on to the cob.
