Seedcleaner: I have a 1688 set up like your 2588, Gorden's in front and 8 staight in back. I pulled the front concave wires and half of the second concave so I can use cover-plates to close them for wheat. I run the vanes in the slow (retarded) position for corn. It still has some minor rotor loss in certain conditions. If you can keep the rotor full it helps too. I run the rotor as slow as it goes and run the concave setting so it will leave whole cobs. For me rotor speed and concave settings never affected rotor loss in corn. If I had a combine that did corn only every other wire across the whole concave would be pulled. This is my 6th year on my first Axial Flow and like it, but I must say pulling wires and moving vanes are a real PIA! Craig
