Subject: Random thoughts on custom spraying

East Central SD
Let me start out by saying that I am not seriously considering running a spraying business. Two years running a Rogator for my local coop makes me happy that I only have to do my own now.
Every so often, I read articles or hear about guys that are doing custom spraying for other farmers. How do they deal with the chemical? Do they provide it? They would never handle enough volume to compete with even a small coop/elevator. I could only imagine the disaster if the farmer was to provide it at each site- "Oh, I forgot the AMS," or "I didn't want to buy a whole other gallon, can't you make this stretch?" This isn't even taking the liability into consideration. I was just curious if there are any farmers out there doing just this, or if any of you hire an individual instead of a commercial guy?

Not really important, just thinking on a rainy day :)
