Questions about Bale spears.....one design better than another?

Does he have results from there use? Cylinder rams aren't designed for that kind of load. Some around me that have used them say they don't work that well. Maybe if they are large enough diameter they would hold up.


Rich We have the deere one and yes they break rather than bend. I think we are on our third one. We've got one spear that has a sleeve you weld in to something then the spear slips in and held with a bolt on the back side. Easy to change but haven't broke one either. I welded the sleeve into the part that stays on the loader when bucket is removed. Just slide in and secure with bolt or locking pin---think its 48" long and maybe rated 3500#(not sure but can get info and pic if interested)----under $100 and a little welding . One other thing I like about it---Its to the side of the tractor hood so you can see where you are hitting the bale.
