South-central Nebraska | Lots of new and improved corn heads recently. Also, lots of European entries into North America. I watched the corn heads/combines at Husker Harvest Days and didn't see much difference. Although the corn stalks were probably most ragged from the Agco Hugger heads. The Claas, JD, Drago, Gerringhoff, CaseNH all seemed to do a nice job processing stalks and trash. Which is built the heaviest, not necessarily overall weight? How about least maintenance? Is there any proof that one will keep more grain in the machine?
I've been most interested in the Drago and quite a few are showing up in our area. They are being run on mostly JD and CaseIH combines. My next corn head will not be the JD 93 series, 893, 1293 etc that I have now. Poor job with stalks and trash. | |
